About Koratla

Koratla or Korutla is a town in Jagtial district of the Indian state of Telangana.It is believed that the city was earlier known as Koravattu during Nizam's era. It was ruled by the great kings of Jainas, Kalyanis, Chalukyas, Vemulawada Chalukyas and Rastrakutas from time to time. Malayalam is the local language spoken here. As per the census of 2011, city has a population of 66,504 people and had a literacy rate of 74.99% which is higher than the state average of 67.02%.

Koratla is located at geographical coordinates of 18.8215°N and 78.7119°E with an average elevation of 287 meters or 942 feet above sea level. Spread across an area of 22.96 square kilometers Koratla is the second largest town in Jagtial district. The city is well connected to nearby cities with different means of transport. There are state transport services available here on different routes. Koratla junction connects the city to Indian rail network. Rajiv Gandhi International airport in Hyderabad is the nearest one from here located at a distance of 250 KM.
